The consortium, officially launched in 2025, brings together three founding members under TRAVIA's leadership, with the ambitious goal of developing credible pathways to convert waste streams into next-generation sustainable fuels. The initiative represents a comprehensive approach combining research and development, rigorous testing, and industry certification processes.
"The SaaF Consortium is more than just a business venture—it's a collaborative platform designed to bridge the gap between industry innovation, academic research, and technological advancement," said Madhu Thiricode, CEO TRAVIA Consultancy. The name "SaaF Consortium," with "SaaF" meaning "clean" in Hindi, reflects the consortium's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The consortium operates on an innovative membership model designed to maximize industry participation and expertise:
Founding Members include TRAVIA alongside two other industry experts who bring specialized knowledge to the initiative.
Associate Members encompass a diverse range of stakeholders including universities, tire manufacturers, regulatory bodies, and major oil companies, ensuring comprehensive industry representation and regulatory compliance.
User Members comprise TPO (Tire Pyrolysis Oil) producers, airlines, and shipping companies—the end-users who will ultimately benefit from and implement these sustainable fuel solutions.
